Treated pine & hardwood sleeper — when budget matters or the spec calls for it. We use galvanised posts in concrete footings, not the bargain-bin steel that fails in three years.

We do the wall, the site prep, the drainage and the clean-up — all in-house, no subbies.
Anything over 1m in finished height needs engineer sign-off in NSW. We work with engineers we trust and usually coordinate the certification directly so you don't have to. Walls under 1m can often go in without — we'll tell you on the site walk which side of the line your job sits.
It depends on height, access and footing — but as a rough guide, finished sandstone block walls in 2026 are running ~$650–$900 per square metre of wall face for jobs across Hawkesbury and the Blue Mountains. We'll give you a fixed-price quote after the site walk, not a per-metre rate that grows on the day.
For walls over 1m we coordinate the engineer's certification directly. For council CC paperwork we'll point you to a consultant we've worked with — they handle the lodgement, we handle the build. We'll never start a wall that needs CC without it.
A 4–6m garden wall — typically 2–3 days. A two-tier driveway wall — 1–2 weeks. A full property terracing job — 3–4 weeks. We give you a calendar at quote-time, not a vague "couple of weeks".
Sandstone is hand-laid, takes longer, looks better the more it weathers — best for feature walls, garden terracing, front entries. Block is faster, structurally engineered, can be rendered or stone-faced — best for driveway walls and any wall where the front face is going to be hidden anyway.
